HIS SIDE &

The moment I laid eyes on Lauren Cashon I knew she was the one.
Just kidding. Robert if you're reading this, you still need to write this section.
Flashback to 2017. My coworkers at the time, Connie and Jess, would tell me that I had to meet their friend, Robert, because they thought we would get along really well. A few weeks later, I ended up meeting Robert at a work event - it was a simple "hi" and "bye" situation. He later called Jess and Connie and questioned if they really thought he would be into me (they had been saying the same thing to him), "because she looks like a hippy".

A few months later in January 2018, I was going out for Connie's birthday and knew that Robert would also be attending. I had to work late that evening so I made it to the end of dinner where the only open seat was next to him. After saying hello, he offered me his last piece of quesadilla.
After dinner, we all went out to celebrate some more. It was a great time and Robert and I were chatting it up. After a few drinks I stole his phone and put my number inside of it (sounds aggressive now that I type that out). Hours later we were leaving and this is where I like to say that *fate* comes in. Our party crew had ordered an Uber to go back to Connie & Jess' home but when the Uber showed up, the driver said that he wouldn't allow all six of us to ride because he only had room for five. Robert was closest to the door so he got out. I followed and asked him if he wanted to go inside and get another drink together (again... sounds aggressive now that I'm typing this out). Robert won't admit that I made the first move, but I. made. the. first. move. We went inside and we laughed and I'm sure this is when Robert fell madly in love with me. I texted my best friends and said "I met my husband". Robert also doesn't believe that part but it happened.

Three months later he asked me to be his girlfriend outside of Virginia Beach's dreamy & historic Cavelier Hotel. Almost exactly three years later, Robert asked me to be his wife in the same spot.
